Historic 1675 Beverly Home: Link to Salem Witch Trials

โ€œIn 1675 in Beverly, Massachusetts William Cleaves, age approx. 24, got married, purchased 10 acres, and quickly built a one room dwelling before winter set in. By 1677 he had completed construction of a typical 4-room colonial, two rooms down and two rooms up, with a central fire place. A few years later, his wife died and later he remarried. The witch trials in Salem, Massachusetts started and his father-in-law, Giles Corey, conveyed a good deal of his land in Salem to William, before Giles was executed. William’s grandson, Nathaniel, fought in the Battle of Lexington and Concord. He was also at the Battle of Bunker Hill and recorded the most accurate moment by moment details of that battle in his diary, which is now housed at the Historical Society. This treasured home, only occupied by three different families over 350 years, is now offered for sale.โ€

Let’s take a look inside the historic Salem Witch Trials home!!

But first, let’s look at the outside!! I love a classic siding exterior like this! and a front porch!

As you can see the home was built in 1675 by William Cleaves Fisherman.

Step inside and you can see all the history in this amazing Beverly home!!

The beams throughout the home are absolutely gorgeous!!

Per the listing some of the planks are as wide as 24″ and are also known as “Kings lumber” which I never knew existed but now all I want is 24″ wide floor beams! Wow!

Here’s the kitchen, you have to see the stove!!

There it is – which is apparently a Magic Chef and worth a ton of money?

Here’s another view of the antique Magic Chef stove! It looks like it’s in great shape. Does anyone know how much it’s actually worth?

This looks like one of the bedrooms. If these walls could talk! Well maybe we don’t want to hear what they have to say lol.

Another bedroom!? Maybe.

Super cute bathroom! I love black and white tile floors.

One more bedroom! I think. Again I don’t want to hear what these walls have to say.

I would love to stay the night up here and tell ghost stories but also I probably would never be able to sleep ever again??
